The 64th edition of the Vaurien World Championship took place from July 18 to 24, 2026 as part of the historic Travemünder Woche, one of Europe's most prestigious sailing events. 59 crews from 9 nations participated in the event, competing in ten races characterized by very different weather conditions: strong wind, calm days, and technically challenging races.

The Italian crew consisting of Olmo Cerri and Gioia Bertolani set their pace from the very first races, achieving seven out of ten race wins and managing their lead until the final day. A clear superiority that left little room for competitors and allowed Italy to return to the top step of the class's world podium.

A Faccenda Vaurien on top of the world

A few weeks before the Vaurien world title, Faccenda hulls had already won the class's Italian Open Championship, again with Olmo Cerri and Gioia Bertolani. The Travemünde World Championship therefore completes a practically perfect season, confirming the competitiveness of Italian boats even at the highest international levels.

The title won in Germany is part of a history that began over thirty years ago.
